Giving Programs

HEART, HANDS, HOPE:

A 4-phase program where the meaning of Christmas continues all year long.  In an effort to aid struggling families across Long Island and NYC, Heart, Hands, Hope will reach out and donate goods to needy families throughout the year.  This spring, we will launch the program by traveling with a van to several locations to assist as many struggling families as possible.  The van will be FULL of clothing, shoes, outdoor toys, then continuing to the next seasons: Summer- books, clothing, and Fall- back to school supplies.

THE SISTER SCHOOLS PROJECT:

The HFF’s mission statement proposes we support children’s initiatives beginning in Floral Park and then moving outward.  The Sisiter Schools Project is designed to do exactly that.  Over the next 5 years, a portion of the Foundation’s funds will be distributed to the Floral Park’s 3 elementary schools (3 girls, 3 schools). These donations will be mirrored at three schools in underprivileged areas, and these will essentially be their “sister schools”.  The plan is to have a yearly theme ( i.e. technology, literacy, etc) and all schools will work within this theme for the year.  Hopefully this will streamline the process and also make it easier for schools to spend the money.  The amount of the yearly donation will vary according to our fund-raising efforts, but we hope to keep this program going for at least the next five years.  It would be great for the students, too, if were possible to set up a connection somehow between the schools so they can see how other children benefit.

Our Mission Statement
The Hance Family Foundation has been founded to honor the memories of Emma, Alyson and Kate Hance, who died in a tragic car accident on July 26, 2009 at ages 8, 7 and 5.

The funds raised for this Foundation will be used to support children’s endeavors, with an initial emphasis on serving the children of the Village of Floral Park. The intention of the Foundation is to honor the memories of these extraordinary girls by helping as many children as possible, in as many ways as possible.

The Hance family is deeply grateful for the overwhelming response to the Foundation’s creation and looks forward to directing the funds toward worthy causes. With the generous support of both strangers and friends alike, the Hance Family Foundation will have a tremendous impact on many young people and will celebrate Emma, Alyson and Kate’s lives by providing resources to children in need.

Healthy, safe and happy children are the highest priority for the Hance Family Foundation.

We are a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
